Welcome to iworld, a world for ipod fans

iWorld is a site for those of you who are iPod fanatics. We post new pods and their generations, recommended pods and Touch Apps and other things. Let's start off with the basics. I, Touchwielder, own the brand new updated iPod Touch 5th generation. My assistant, iPodsforever owns an iPhone, and an iPod Shuffle and an iPod Nano. This site is strictly advice and info for people who have either an iPod Touch or iPod Touch 2nd generation. I will have a tips &tricks page for you to look at.

MAKE YOUR OWN APPS!!! Congratulations iPod Touch 2.0 users! No need to worry about jailbreaking your iPod just to have website apps! To make your own, go on your iPod, then go to safari, then go to the site you wish to visit anytime(example: Webs.com) and then go to the little + sign at the bottom of the screen. Then proceed to tap the add to home screen button. Then proceed to add what you want the app to be called and then tap add, and then it will pop up as an app! Easiest thing to do! Now jailbreaking is only an option for those of you who still crave 3rd party applications and personalized backgrounds and logos.

3RD PARTY APPS AVAILABLE AND APPLE CAN'T RUIN THIS! Do you crave 3rd party apps, but hate to think about jailbreaking? This only costs 99¢ at the appstorebeta! Buy "web apps" application and then download it to your ipod. Then open it up and search for any third party app you know of (not including installer or customizer) and then click on it. On its description it will show it's web address. Go to safari on your ipod and type in the web address and it will open. Then click the + sign and then click add to home screen. (If the logo doesn't show up, zoom in on the logo for it and then click the + and so on.) Then type in what you want the 3rd party app to be called and then click "Add" in the right top hand of the screen. Then wait a few minutes and you will have a 3rd party web app on your ipod! And what's good about this is, Apple certified web apps application without even recognizing its 3rd party features. I have tried this and now I have over 100 3rd party apps and over 50 appstore apps!

These are some 3rd party apps including installer and customize.

I will soon have a list of 3rd party apps and their websites!

MAKE YOUR OWN THIRD PARTY START SCREEN! If you want to get the closest you can to customization without jailbreaking, this is for you. Got to : http://modmyi.com/cydia/category.php?cat=Themes%20(Lockscreen) and scroll through the lock screens until you fint the one you want (Remember, your doing this on your ipod/iphone) and then look at its screen shot. then zoom in exactly (And i mean EXACTLY) on its screenshot and touch it and don't remove it until a box pops up and save "Save image" and "Cancel". Click on save image and then go to your photo app and look at it and press the house button with the arrow going out of it and use it as wall paper. You can even edit your wallpaper with http://www.picnik.com/ and then save it to your website and then go to your website and do the save image and all that all over again and then click the off butto on your ipod quickly and then click home button and it should pop up as something like the example I found on google:(Depends on which lockscrren and how you edited it.)

This was one I actually found on google images, and I thought it looked close enough to what I do.

WARNING CONFICKER WORM ON APRIL 1 BEGINS D-DAY FOR VIRUS INVASIONS

Tomorrow -- April 1 -- is D-Day for Conficker, as whatever nasty payload it's packing is currently set to activate. What happens come midnight is a mystery: Will it turn the millions of infected computers into spam-sending zombie robots? Or will it start capturing everything you type -- passwords, credit card numbers, etc. -- and send that information back to its masters?

No one knows, but we'll probably find out soon.

Or not. As Slate notes, Conficker is scheduled to go "live" on April 1, but whoever's controlling it could choose not to wreak havoc but instead do absolutely nothing, waiting for a time when there's less heat. They can do this because the way Conficker is designed is extremely clever: Rather than containing a list of specific, static instructions, Conficker reaches out to the web to receive updated marching orders via a huge list of websites it creates. Conficker.C -- the latest bad boy -- will start checking 50,000 different semi-randomly-generated sites a day looking for instructions, so there's no way to shut down all of them. If just one of those sites goes live with legitimate instructions, Conficker keeps on trucking.

Conficker's a nasty little worm that takes serious efforts to bypass your security defenses, but you aren't without some tools in your arsenal to protect yourself.

Your first step should be the tools you already have: Windows Update, to make sure your computer is fully patched, and your current antivirus software, to make sure anything that slips through the cracks is caught.

But if Conficker's already on your machine, it may bypass certain subsystems and updating Windows and your antivirus at this point may not work. If you are worried about anything being amiss -- try booting into Safe Mode, which Conficker prevents, to check -- you should run a specialized tool to get rid of Conficker.

Microsoft offers a web-based scanner (note that some users have reported it crashed their machines; I had no trouble with it), so you might try one of these downloadable options instead: Symantec's Conficker (aka Downadup) tool, Trend Micro's Cleanup Engine, or Malwarebytes. Conficker may prevent your machine from accessing any of these websites, so you may have to download these tools from a known non-infected computer if you need them. Follow the instructions given on each site to run them successfully. (Also note: None of these tools should harm your computer if you don't have Conficker.)

As a final safety note, all users -- whether they're worried about an infection or know for sure they're clean -- are also wise to make a full data backup today.

What won't work? Turning your PC off tonight and back on on April 2 will not protect you from the worm (sorry to the dozens of people who wrote me asking if this would do the trick). Temporarily disconnecting your computer from the web won't help if the malware is already on your machine -- it will simply activate once you connect again. Changing the date on your PC will likely have no helpful effect, either. And yes, Macs are immune this time out. Follow the above instructions to detect and remove the worm.

-From symantec.com-

It's true that april first will be D-DAY for conficker which opens up a whole new door for other hackers willing to steal. But this is not the first time, back in october 2008 a demo (A.K.A. Pearl Harbor for conficker) of conficker launched and attacked a few computers, and succeeded. Just shutting down your computer won't help. What is scary is that the master of it all simply has to type in "run" on his software program to autommatically launch the international d-day size attack and WILL look to destroy. It will steal your passwords, and id. It will grab any unsuspected pc it wants. The only thing is, conficker worm is specifically targeting windows, which leaves macs unworried. For now, Some anti-virus companies think this is just the beginning. They suspect the master is creating something that runs on macs that will start a new frontier of conficker known as conficker/mac. Then eventually alwho escaped the apocalypse will be either safe, or the master will find a way past security. Beware and Be safe.

Version 1.2.0

the scoop on cydia

Ok, so I think by now, we all realize that its basically a war between apple, jailbreakers, and the government. That was, until microsoft bought cydia. Cydia™ is Debian APT on the iPhone. Think AppStore, but with packages you could never get direct through Apple. Created by Jay Freeman (saurik), Cydia™ is a feature-rich AppStore competitor. Full themes to completely make over your iPhone's look are available through WinterBoard. Video recording is possible using Cycorder or Video Recorder for 3G. You can share your iPhone's 3G connection with your laptop using PdaNet, or get free music, videos, and torrents using dTunes. Take complete control of your iPhone with SBSettings.

You'll find Cydia™ right there on your iPhone after you jailbreak your iPhone. Using it is easy - browse the categories, check what's new, or peruse the featured section to see the current popular apps. There's hundreds (getting into the thousands) of themes to choose from.

Cydia is basically the appstore for jailbreakers with THOUSANDS of free things and so far i've only seen 3 things to pay for. Cydia gives you themes. To use the themes you need winterboard. Winterboard is not hard. It is just a lidt of things you can check to customize your ipod! But now we have microsoft as our ally.  That means we are stronger. The design for a future iphone was made and the creator accidentally added installer and some other third party apps. They also added a theme. That means apple could start to fall apart. Steve Jobs has cancer and they cant make jailbreaking illegal. This means that the government is on our side too. Apple is also taking away rights, such as emoji emoticons and other GOOD things! So that means more and more people will be jailbreaking. And THAT means apple will lose more customers to cydia, installer, modmyi,Apple's DEV team, and hackulo.us. Originally Apple was the one who was winning. But now all sorts of companies including APPLE'S DEV TEAM have resorted to a routine. Apple comes out with a new firmware, one week later it is officially jailbroken. Apple tends to think that they have the upper hand. They think that their new firmwares are un-jailbreakable. And then they find out they aren't. But now quickfreedom gives apple 1 chance. Quickfreedom took mercy on apple and made it possible to sync a quickfreedomed ipod touch 2g with itunes. That's what I used. I'm not here to ruin apple. I'm for apple, but not for apple. I'm pacifist. Although I think i'm more non-apple, apple better not mess with me.

URGENT: War on Apple

Apple has spread this war to THE MAC. Apple has made it so the mac cannot download jailbreaking software. Bummer. BUT, there is good news. Apple has created firmware 3.1.2., which was originally unjailbreakable. But now, a hacker created Blackra1n, a 30 SEC OND JAILBREAK! Ha! We've got apple beat! BUT I have to remind you, im a pacifist.

HACKULO.US IS ILLEGAL! DO NOT ADD THIS SOURCE TO CYDIA!!!!!
